Alaska Energy Metals Signs MOU With Lucid and Mining Partners

Alaska Energy Metals Corporation said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Lucid Group and several mining and mineral processing companies to form Minerals for National Automotive Competitiveness, or MINAC. The group also includes Graphite One, Electric Metals USA and RecycLiCo Battery Materials.

The company said the initiative is intended to support domestic sourcing of minerals for the automotive supply chain, with a focus on reducing reliance on foreign suppliers and strengthening U.S. industrial capacity.

Policy Alignment Could Support Strategic Messaging

AEMC said MINAC is designed to advance the objectives of President Trump’s March 20, 2025 Executive Order, Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production. The company also linked the effort to the administration’s broader push to expand U.S. mineral output and improve supply-chain resilience.

For AEMC, the announcement reinforces its positioning as a domestic critical-minerals developer at a time when policy support for U.S.-based mining remains a central theme for investors in the sector.

Launch Event Featured Political and Industry Support

The partnership was unveiled on July 23, 2025 at a launch event that included a roundtable discussion with Governor Katie Hobbs, U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan, U.S. Representatives Nick Begich and Andy Biggs.

The participation of elected officials underscores the political relevance of the initiative, particularly as the U.S. seeks to expand mineral supply chains tied to autos, defense and broader manufacturing.

AEMC Frames Domestic Mining as a Supply-Chain and Defense Issue

AEMC President and CEO Gregory Beischer said the company is proud to be part of the group and pointed to Alaska’s role in American critical mineral production. He said the company aims to help develop resilient domestic automotive mineral supply chains.

Beischer also said domestic sourcing can improve regulatory oversight, environmental standards, traceability and responsible sourcing, while reducing environmental and human-rights risks associated with foreign mining operations.

We are proud and excited to be counted amongst this group of companies.

By developing resilient automotive supply chains, we establish commercially viable mining operations that also help strengthen the American Defense Industrial Base.

Investor Focus Remains on Execution, Not Just Policy Tailwinds

The announcement does not include financing terms, production targets or binding commercial commitments, so the near-term market impact is likely to depend on whether MINAC translates into concrete offtake, processing or development milestones.

For AEMC, the news may help support strategic visibility around its Nikolai Project in Interior Alaska, which the company says contains nickel, copper, cobalt, chromium, iron, platinum, palladium and gold. Investors will likely continue to focus on permitting, capital access and project advancement as the key valuation drivers.

Company Background and Project Portfolio

AEMC describes itself as an Alaska-based company with offices in Anchorage and Vancouver focused on delivering critical materials for national security and the energy transition. Its flagship Nikolai Project is located near existing transportation and power infrastructure in Interior Alaska.

The company also holds the Angliers – Belleterre project in western Quebec. AEMC said it aims to combine environmental performance, technological innovation, carbon mitigation and responsible capital management in its development strategy.
